Strawberry cake

Ok first I'll say that it was a little bit more dense than it should be...
That was because I added more liquid (from the strawberry extrudate) and didn't compensate in adding more flour.
Also if you want the cake to be pink, the extrudate will add only a little color, so you may have to go artificial if you want it really pink- I didn't.
Other than that....

I think this came out good. I don't say great because I think I can do better with some tweaking.

This is a white cake recipe from scratch that I modified by adding strawberry and vanilla/chocolate pudding.

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (add another 1/2 cup-because of what I said)
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup strawberries (previously frozen)
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 vanilla pudding cup

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners.
  • Prepare the strawberries by letting them thaw in one cup of powdered sugar (yum)
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter.

  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla pudding
  • Add the Strawberries

  • Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  • Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth

  • Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven.

  • For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.

Gluten Free- cookie

Ok so I like cookies but these days my stomach is getting worse and worse with these types of foods.
I went to the organic food 'etc' store and got some gluten free sandwich creme cookies.

The girl at the check-out said to keep my receipt and if I didn't like them to return them.

I mean..I don't despise them but I am not sure I can eat them. I tried one, then another.

They are so incredibly hard. The flavor is good but I was seriously scared I would chip my tooth.

The creme was also not creme... I guess that's fine but should it break much as how the cookie broke? Should creme break at all like that? Crisp corners and sharp edges?

There must be some way to get round this...some ingredient they could add...

The good thing is that my stomach didn't hurt at all..Maybe I'll just lay off cookies altogether.

Milla Loves Marrow

Pregnant Milla Jovovich has been craving bone marrow.

The 'Resident Evil' actress - who has gained 70lbs since falling pregnant
with her first child with fiancé director Paul W.S. Anderson - was in Paris
when she experienced an overwhelming desire for "the leg of a cow".

She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "I was craving bone marrow one day, and
I scoured the whole of Paris searching for the leg of a cow. When I finally
found what I was looking for, I cut it in half, digging out the yellowish
substance, slathering it all over bread."
The Ukrainian model, who is expecting a girl, has developed a new
relationship with food since falling pregnant.

She said: "Before I got pregnant, I really didn't care about food. I saw it
as fuel, not something to sit down and enjoy. As an actress and model, I
lived on cigarettes and coffee, and jet-lag tended to kill off any appetite
I had.

"My diet for most of this year has been - for breakfast, four eggs with
bacon, toast and butter, if I was at home. Then if I was at a diner, I'd
have a Mexican omlette, a stack of pancakes and strawberry milkshake.

"I'd stuff myself with cookies all morning - whatever was in the cupboard
really - then I'd have a box of Krispy Kreme donuts for dessert. And I
once ate two whole packs of coffee cake in one sitting!"

Green Market Food

The food looked GOOD...

I didn't really feel that hungry for the vegetables and the really nice looking stuff was too carby...but for viewing pleasure :)

The people who ate seemed to really enjoy it too...

Don't forget the peppers!

Umm There was beer there...It didn't seem to mesh with the natural juices and fair trade coffee LOL

Black and White cookie

I always wanted to try it since I saw it on TV.
I got one today and sat in the sun to eat it
So warm...Soooo good
Notice how it looks cakey?
That is because it is..The cookie is like cake that they put icing onto.

Sis remember the icing we used to make with icing powder and egg etc? I think they did the same here but maybe just water no egg.
So it hardened.
This is a good cookie but not the best.
Chocolate chip all the way baby....

Only Because I heard it said

Church...for food and Guinness

So I took this picture....

Food Posters

I really liked this one

:) Then they had pretty teas too!

Maybe one day

This place is supposed to be really good.
Somebody highly recommended it

Maybe I will go there

Spicy seasoned Lamb and Beef Bone Marrow

I don't often get the marrow because it's so fatty but yesterday I went to the store and there it was...
Waiting for me

So I seasoned it all -with some lamb

Popped it into the oven at 325 for 1 hour and then 10 minutes more at 450.

Sooo Good.

You can't really eat too much of the marrow in one sitting because you will feel ill..

There is really too much fat..but one serving is enough :)

What is Chic

The restaurant/cafe could be...
I think they just opened or something

There were only two employees working and so the tables remained dirty for a while and service was a little bit slow...

Once they hire more people they should be fine, but I am kinda glad I didn't eat there.
I just had a mango smoothie

I really liked their coffee machine; just like the one they bought on COSBY.
Too cute...
