SO if you have to write an essay or a paper where food plays an important role in a film, try watching Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles.
Be forewarned however, the film is three hours long and not full of action or dialogue at all.
Also no musical score...
Watch it alone or with someone who doesn't complain or you will regret it.
The film goes through great pains to show every single acting detail in the preparation and consumption of food
It's sort of central to the plot
It follows a woman over three days of her life and you get to see that the routine of her life is disrupted by something she does that seems routine in her life but is taxing upon her emotionally
Great use of food
Watch it if you have the time or inclination
